On a rainy afternoon sometime in 1957 Terry Ward discovered he could draw Woody Woodpecker, and he was hooked. He still slides into that mood to create artworks in various mediums. After spending 30 years as a telephone company technician, he retired to Jefferson, Texas in 2003 to build a studio and create full time. He is self-taught, self-critical, and self-effacing which has seemed to make him ineffectual at self-promoting. But he welcomes visitors to his studio in Jefferson and can be contacted for private commissions at theterryward@gmail.com.
